Kid’s bedroom lighting and novelty lights

Any very young child’s night light should be positioned so that the bare lamp bulb cannot be touched. Some lamps get very hot in use and can cause severe burns if handled. All of our child night lights have been carefully designed to eliminate any risk of harm.

A child’s bedroom should be a special place and illuminated in such a way as to stimulate them and make their space a wonderful place. Lighting can be one solution to personalise their room and suit their sense of style, whilst making them feel safe and content, throughout the night.

Babies and toddlers love watching mobiles hanging over their cots. The colourful characters above their head provide stimulation and entertainment. A child’s bedroom ceiling light can combine the benefits of a colourful mobile with a central light. It’s a good idea to fit dimmer switches whenever possible so that the light can be set at a low level at bedtime.

Nursery lighting is more than just about adding illumination. A very young toddler’s room should have something that stimulates the senses with bright colours. Our kid’s night lights fit the bill perfectly and can make the very young feel secure should they wake in the middle of the night.

Night lights do exactly what the name suggests. They bathe the room with a soft glow throughout the night; just enough to make your child or toddler feel secure should they wake during the night, but not so bright as to prevent sleep.

When our kids get older, their needs and taste changes. They no longer wish for their teddy or want to look at what they now consider to be baby lights. This is the time to look at some of the novelty pendants such as the helicopter, aeroplane or F1 racing car ceiling lights.

The need for a table or desk lamp is now greater than it was for those children who like to read before going to sleep or need to do homework in the evening. Consider a central ceiling light combined with a table lamp, floor lamp, wall lights or a night light for the best of all worlds.

There are no hard and fast rules for creating the right lighting atmosphere for your child, although it is best to use different combinations of light so that you can be flexible as the need demands.
