Questions and Answers

Question from Guy

Q:

Is this fitting dawn to dusk, ie when it becomes dark the PIR becomes active?

A:

The PIR on this security light will only operate during the hours of darkness.

Question from June

Q:

Hi, is the bulk a bayonet fitting or screw cap?

A:

Thank you for your enquiry, the Bakerloo PIR outdoor light takes an Edison screw bulb

Question from Hugh McMillan

Q:

I need three of these lights have you them in stock

A:

Usual delivery time for products in stock is around 2-3 working days. We don’t stock everything on our website, but unless it is showing as “out of stock” then availability should be good.

Question from Alison Rawsthorne

Q:

We have a specific space in which to fit a light. Is it possible to get a picture of the wiring diagram to see if this light will fit?

A:

We can provide a copy of the installation instructions on request.

Question from Alex

Q:

Hi, can you please advise if LUX setting can be adjusted? Can it be set to turn the light on only at night?

A:

These lights have dial settings on them: Lux, Time, Sensitivity.
These dials can be found under the eyelid of the PIR sensor (this can be flicked down over the eye to reveal them).

Question from Clare

Q:

Hi please can you advise how easy it is to change the bulb, do we have to dismantle the light to do this? Thanks

A:

We can advise this fitting does require a screw driver to replace the bulb.
There is a small screw on the bottom plate that will release the metal plate and the glass.
This will give access to the bulb to be replaced.

Question from Mrs Linda Dennis

Q:

Does this light have a manual over ride, so it can stay on if required?

A:

This security light does not feature a manual override facility.

Question from Karen

Q:

What is the range of the movement sensor please? And is the length of time the light stays on adjustable? If not, how long is it set for? Thank you

A:

TIME: The duration the lamp remains on can be adjusted from approximately 10 seconds to 4 minutes. ( +/- 5secs to +/- 1minute )

RANGE: The detection angle is set at an optimum 90⁰ degrees . The distance of operation can be adjusted from approximately 2metres to a maximum of 8metres

Question from Bob Davis

Q:

Can you override the motion sensor

A:

Wall sensor on this security light does not have an overide facility, it will only function on/off via the built in PIR.

Question from Kate Dearden

Q:

Hi we bought this from you in 2018 do you happen to know what bulb I need to order?

A:

You need an E27 (large Edison screw) bulb up to 40w maximum. You can use an ordinary household lamp bulb or and LED bulb like this one:
https://www.universal-lighting.co.uk/products/es-e27-filament-6w-led-gls-light-bulb-warm-white-660-lumen/

Question from Phil Cann

Q:

Hi – what is the measurement od the back plate?

A:

The back plate of this outdoor security light measures 288mm x 78mm wide.

Question from James

Q:

Could It be made clear to me that this light is essentially a dusk till dawn product? As it has a photocell my guess it turned the unit on and off automatically. Would I be correct in assuming this?

A:

Hello James, many thanks for your question. The integral photocell only turns on the pir sensor during the hours of darkness, it does not turn the light on. When it gets dark the photocell turns the pir sensor on and when the pir then detects movement it will then turn the light on.
