Questions and Answers

Question from Gary

Q:

How do you set the light to remain on all the time PIR IP44

A:

To change from PIR to Override; Switch the power on and off twice within a 3 second period to enable the manual override facility.

Question from Bazza

Q:

How do you adjust the sensor and time light is on.

A:

Thank you for your email and question. These are set by dials on the back of the unit at the point of installation.

Question from Josh

Q:

Hi, does this light require live, neutral and earth or live, switch live, neutral and earth? (2 core or 3 core cable)

Thanks

A:

This security light only requires live, neutral and earth. The manual override facility is operated by switching the light on and off twice within 3 seconds

Question from Simon

Q:

Can this light be manually controlled using a wall switch as well as the PIR option? I am trying to replace a similar one which has 4 cable connections.

A:

We can advise that this fitting does have a manual override option (stay on permanently) as well as the PIR trigger.

This isn’t done with 4 wires though, the PIR override is controlled by 3 rapid switches on and off to change modes.

Question from Bob Davis

Q:

Hi, does the manual override facility require a special wiring configuration?

A:

You should wire this security light as standard but in order to utilise the manual override, it needs to be controlled via a wall switch. Flicking the wall switch on and off three times within a few seconds will switch the light to manual override function.

Question from legg

Q:

This light has a manual override by turning switch on/off in 3 secs. Excellent I am seeking this BUT I wan a down-light only (not up and down). Do do have other lights with this remote override feature ?

A:

Here is the down light version with the manual override:
Down light with manual override PIR

Question from Michael Vale

Q:

Hi There, i’m interested to know how the manual override facility works?

A:

The manual override is operated by turning the fitting on/off twice within 3 seconds

Question from Ross

Q:

Does this light also have a dusk till dawn setting on it??

A:

The dusk to dawn feature on this light is linked to the Sensor meaning that, when selected, the sensor will only function during the hours of darkness.

Question from Sally Cantan

Q:

What is the minimum range? You mostly specify maximum but not minimum. I need a light that can go down to 2 m

A:

The range is not adjustable on this security light. The optimum mounting height to achieve 8m range is 2.4m, by lowering the mounting height, the range will shorten, but not as low as 2m.

Question from Mr S Hattersley

Q:

Can this light be set to remain on all the time?

A:

Yes, this PIR security light has a manual override facility that allows it to remain permanently on when required.

Question from Jules

Q:

Is this light dimmable if suitable bulbs & dimmer switch are used?

A:

These security lights are not dimmable, and should be wired to an on/off switch for isolation which is also required for the manual override facility.
