Mark Tregunna

Mark joined Universal lighting as General Manager in 2018 and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience with him. His experience and achievements speak for themselves.

• In 1987, Mark joined a national electrical wholesaler company as a management trainee.
• In 1989, Mark was promoted to assistant manager.
• In 1999, Mark’s company was taken over by a world leading global electrical distributor, and he was promoted to manager.
• In 2001, Mark completed a 6-month course in London at the Lighting Industry Federation HQ and gained the LIA (Lighting Industry Association Certificate) in lighting design.
• Trained and experienced in the use of RELUX lighting design software.

Mark has been supplying lighting and advising customers on the selection and design of lighting schemes since the advent of 12v halogen downlights in the 80s. He has experienced the revolution in fluorescent lights, with the introduction of TRI-phosphor tubes and 2D lamps, cold cathode lighting and CFLs, right up to the introduction and development of todays bright and efficient LEDs.

With almost 40 years experience in the lighting industry, Mark can rightly be called a lighting expert.

Sye Yehya

Sye, together with his wife Jan, took over ownership of Universal Lighting Services in 2009, when the founder David Foster retired. Prior to joining the company, Sye had no experience in the lighting industry or in retail for that matter. Sye worked alongside David and was introduced to the brand partners and the intricacies of running a lighting company.

He gained experience in every aspect of the company, from packing and despatch, to catalogue selection and design and dealing with customers on a daily basis. He has dealt with every aspect of the business, including being involved in the lighting design stages of domestic, hotel and commercial offices.

His experience has all been hands-on and during the past 16 years Sye has amassed a great deal of practical knowledge. This includes the design, product selection and quality attributes of everything we supply, and he can rightly be called an experienced lighting specialist.
